From Luxor to the Temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo.
If you have already visited the excursions in Giza and Luxor? … then it’s time to get acquainted with lesser-known, but most interesting monuments. The second largest temple of Ancient Egypt, Edfu, is distinguished by its monumentality and good preservation. You will appreciate the scale of this structure, after which we will go to the temple of the crocodile god in Kom Ombo.
We will visit two temples of Hellenistic Egypt. You will learn more about this period and the Ptolemaic dynasty.
The Temple of Edfu. We will get there in about 1.5 hours. This temple is dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the protector of royal power and the son of Isis and Osiris. Built between 237 and 57 BC, it is considered the best preserved cult temple in Egypt.
The Temple in Kom Ombo. We are going to Aswan, where on a hill overlooking the Nile there is an unusual sanctuary. This is a double temple dedicated to both Horus (falcon) and Sebek (crocodile).
We will pick you up from any hotel in Luxor and take you back at the end
