Luxor is home to many unique archaeological sites that are worth seeing to get a better understanding of Ancient Egypt. We will take you along the West and East Banks, stopping at places like the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. You can go inside, soak up the atmosphere, and we will immerse you in history.
West Bank
The Colossi of Memnon. First, you will see the enormous statues weighing 1,000 tons, built for King Amenhotep III.
The Temple of El Deir el Bahri. This is a funerary temple for Queen Hatshepsut, the second female pharaoh in Egyptian history. The temple seems to be cut into the mountain – you will admire its perfect architecture and the surrounding natural landscapes.
The Valley of the Kings. When Luxor was the capital of Egypt and was called Thebes, tombs for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom were carved into its rocks. The valley gained its fame after the tomb belonging to King Tutankhamun was discovered.
Alabaster Factory. After visiting the historical locations, you will get acquainted with the modern life of Egyptians on the West Bank of the Nile. If you want, you can buy handicrafts at the Alabaster Factory.
East Bank
The largest temple complex of Ancient Egypt, included in the UNESCO Heritage List. Here you will find the largest columned hall in the world. Here is also the tallest obelisk in Egypt – the Obelisk of Hatshepsut.
Luxor Temple. A strikingly elegant monument of the New Kingdom in the heart of the modern city. It is also included in the UNESCO Heritage List.
